The Challenge

Spring Training brings visitors to Arizona for the baseball. The Office of Tourism needed to reach them beyond the ballpark and keep influencing what they did for the rest of their stay.

The Audience

Leisure travelers attending Spring Training, families planning local activities, and visitors making daily tourism decisions on the ground.

The Strategy

Reach visitors during high-dwell planning moments and influence decisions after arrival, not just before travel — extending engagement past game day.

The Solution

Self-standing banners placed across a custom hospitality network of 31 hotels and motels spanning the Phoenix metro area.

Execution

A six-week flight timed to the Spring Training season, with banners sited in lobbies and breakfast areas where guests plan their day.

Results

The campaign generated more than 1.56 million impressions, plus 520,800 added-value impressions and $11,625 in added-value cost, helping visitors discover both Spring Training events and Arizona's wider attractions.

What We Learned

Traditional sports sponsorship reaches fans during the game. Focusing on audience behavior rather than venue type reached them before and after it, across the whole travel experience.
